Amazingly beautiful time-lapse video made from pictures taken by photographer Terje Sorgjerd on Mount Teide in Spain. The pictures of the Milky Way going by overhead are breathtaking.

Reds' SP Mike Leake Arrested for Theft in Ohio

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mike Leake was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center today, accused of theft. Leake was booked into the jail at 2:32 p.m. by Cincinnati police. Leake, of Ludlow, was arrested after Macy's department store loss prevention employees stopped the Reds pitcher today after they say he took $59.88 in property from the store. Police said the incident was caught on security cameras at the Downtown Macy's. The theft is listed as a misdemeanor. Cincinnati police didn't immediately respond to e-mails asking for more information about Leake's arrest. The theft charge carries a maximum jail term of 180 days. TSA Investigates... People Who Complain About TSA

"CNN has obtained a list of roughly 70 'behavioral indicators' that TSA behavior detection officers use to identify potentially 'high risk' passengers at the nation's airports, and report that arrogant complaining about airport security is one indicator TSA officers consider when looking for possible criminals and terrorists. When combined with other behavioral indicators, it could result in a traveler facing additional scrutiny. 'Expressing your contempt about airport procedures — that's a First Amendment-protected right,' says Michael German, a former FBI agent who now works as legal counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union. 'It's circular reasoning where, you know, I'm going to ask someone to surrender their rights; if they refuse, that's evidence that I need to take their rights away from them. And it's simply inappropriate.' Interestingly enough, some experts say terrorists are much more likely to avoid confrontations with authorities, saying an al-Qaeda training manual instructs members to blend in." (Slashdot )

What Happened to the Climate Refugees?

"In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010. These people, it was said, would flee a range of disasters including sea level rise, increases in the numbers and severity of hurricanes, and disruption to food production."
...
However, a very cursory look at the first available evidence seems to show that the places identified by the UNEP as most at risk of having climate refugees are not only not losing people, they are actually among the fastest growing regions in the world." (Asian Correspondent)

Why Google Should Buy the Music Industry

"According to one story about Google's attempts to launch its own music service, 'the search giant is "disgusted" with the labels, so much so that they are seriously considering following Amazon's lead and launching their music cloud service without label licenses.' So here's a simple solution: Google should just buy the major record labels — all of them. It could afford them — people tend to forget that the music industry is actually relatively small in economic terms, but wields a disproportionate influence with policy makers. Buying them would solve that problem too." (Slashdot)

Apollo 18 (Trailer)

Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972, was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it's the real reason we've never gone back to the moon.
